Beyond Secret Santa: Christmas Party Entertainment Your Team Will Actually Enjoy

Because another awkward office karaoke session probably isn't on anyone's Christmas list.
It's that time of year again. The decorations are coming out, calendars are filling up, and somewhere in a Paris office, someone has been given the rather intimidating task of planning the company Christmas party, and we can't all be Michael Scott with "Classy Christmas".
No pressure, of course. You just need to find a venue, organize the food, accommodate everyone's dietary restrictions, and somehow make sure that fifty people who spend all week together actually enjoy spending another evening together.
The good news? You don't need an elaborate theme, an enormous budget, or another round of compulsory team-building activities to create a memorable celebration.
Sometimes, all you need is a little magic. (Yes, I know that was cheesy but it was right there!)
The Problem With the Traditional Office Christmas Party
Let's be fair. There's absolutely nothing wrong with good food, a few drinks, and a festive playlist! But there's a difference between hosting a party and creating an experience.
At many company celebrations, guests naturally gravitate toward the colleagues they already know. The marketing team stays with marketing, the finance team stays with finance, and that new employee who started last Tuesday spends half the evening trying to remember everyone's names or awkwardly hanging around their manager.
A great Christmas party should bring people together, not just put them in the same room.
And that's exactly what interactive entertainment can do.
Instead, imagine this...
A small group of colleagues is chatting over champagne when a magician joins them. Someone makes a seemingly ordinary choice, a prediction is revealed, and suddenly something completely impossible has happened.
There's laughter, disbelief, and inevitably someone insisting, "Do that again!" Before you know it, people who barely knew each other are sharing a moment they'll be talking about on Monday morning, maybe even Tuesday!
Personally, that's what I love about close-up magic. It doesn't require a stage, special lighting, or asking everyone to abandon their conversations. I simply move between groups, creating little moments of surprise throughout the evening.
And unlike certain office party activities, nobody has to sing in front of their boss.
Unless they really want to.
Three Ways to Bring Magic to Your Christmas Party
1. Close-Up Magic During the Cocktail Reception
Perfect for events where guests are mingling, enjoying drinks, and catching up with colleagues.
I perform for small groups throughout the room, creating spontaneous moments of entertainment without interrupting the flow of the evening.
2. A Stand-Up Mentalism Performance
Looking for something that brings the entire team together?
A stand-up mentalism show combines audience participation, surprising predictions, and a little psychological mystery.
It's an excellent way to create a shared highlight during your celebration, particularly before dinner or as part of an evening program.
3. A Little Bit of Both
Why choose?
Start with close-up magic during the reception, then bring everyone together for a featured performance.
It's a wonderful way to create both intimate moments and a memorable experience for the entire team.
Give Your Team Something Worth Talking About
Your colleagues have spent the year working through deadlines, meetings, and the occasional email that probably could have been a Slack message. Or meeting that could have been a Slack message!
They deserve a celebration that's genuinely enjoyable, and yes, a little magical!
